of presenting this report on \u00abChina in Latin America\u00bb in Washington, DC. \u00a0Co-authored with Kevin Gallagher and Rebecca Ray, this is the product of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/research\/gegi\/program-area\/chinas-global-reach\/chinas-global-reach-environment-and-development\/working-group\/\">Working Group on Development and Environment in the Americas<\/a>, a\u00a0multi-university effort coordinated by the Center for Transformation Research (CENIT) in Argentina, our own Research Center of the University of the Pacific <a href=\"http:\/\/www.up.edu.pe\/ciup\/default.aspx\">(CIUP) in Peru<\/a>, Boston University\u2019s Global Economic\u00a0Governance Initiative, and Tufts University\u2019s Global Development and Environment Institute.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to this overview report, the group has produced eight country studies, on Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru. \u00a0In Washington we shared results with staff at the IADB and in an open event at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wilsoncenter.org\/event\/china-and-latin-america-seeking-path-to-sustainable-development\">Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars<\/a>. \u00a0The English\u00a0summary and all country studies are available on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/research\/gegi\/program-area\/chinas-global-reach\/chinas-global-reach-environment-and-development\/working-group\/\">this LINK<\/a>, including a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/files\/2014\/12\/Peru2.pdf\">Peru paper<\/a> co-authored with Victoria Chonn Ching. \u00a0 A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.up.edu.pe\/prensa\/noticias\/china-en-latinoamerica-cual-es-el-impacto-socioambiental\">Spanish summary of the presentation<\/a> is available on the CIUP website, and a full Spanish translation of all the papers will be published in book form by the Universidad del Pac\u00edfico Press later this year. \u00a0 There will also be a Chinese version shared in Beijing.<\/p>\n<p>This work was recently profiled in Spanish and English in the newsletter <a href=\"http:\/\/dialogochino.net\/china-en-america-latina-en-busca-del-camino-hacia-el-desarrollo-sostenible\/?lang=es\">Dialogo Chino<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last
